Subject: wow.
forty years ago today. timeless. we've all heard these songs in so man incarnations over the years. High quality, low quality, good nights, great nights, even a couple not so great ones. But some how i still feel the music like i did the very first time that heard a rockin mama tried.
I guess the only thing to say is thanks for the music guys! and thanks to the archive for a place to find it.

For those who didn't grow up listening to Little Richard and Bo Diddley on AM radio in the Fifties, the sound quality will be a turn off. An unfortunate result, as this show is a powerful reminder of just how much Rod brought to the original lineup. Except for the sound quality, this set has one of the better versions of "High Time," and free tracks of "Easy Wind" are not easy to find. The lack of top end on the recording actually enhances the off-key version of "I Know You Rider," as the overall punch makes up for what the vocals lack in precision. Most importantly, Jerry's guitar cuts through everything, and what else matters at a Grateful Dead concert? Well worth the space on my hard drive.
